Acupuncture

Acupuncture is part of a medical system called Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with a history of over 3,000 years of continued refinement. TCM includes the practice of acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, and herbal medicine.

Mitchell specializes in a highly refined method of Japanese Acupuncture called Toyohari.

Acupuncture is a holistic practice in which no single aspect of someone’s health is appraised separately from the whole person. Physical, emotional, environmental, and psychological conditions are all considered and addressed in creating a treatment plan.

We all have an innate ability to heal our selves. Our bodies are constantly trying to find balance and harmony to achieve maximum functioning. An organic illness is the result of a prolonged imbalanced life style. The underlying disharmony and feelings of disease exist long before an illness can be identified and named in a bio-medical sense. The aim of the acupuncturist is to help correct these patterns of disharmony and thereby guide the body to restore its natural state of equilibrium, good health and vitality.

Shiatsu

Mitchell began studying Shiatsu in 1981 under the guidance of Master Wataru Ohashi. Ohashi Sensei is the creator of Ohasiatsu and was a pioneer in bringing his healing art to America. Mitchell taught for his institute for over 20 years. The client wears loose fitting cotton clothing during a session that does not use any oils. The method focuses on whole body balancing and is deeply relaxing.

Mitchell offers his very popular expert shiatsu sessions as a stand alone experience.

Sessions with Mitchell

Mitchell works with only one patient at a time so that you will have his undivided attention. The sessions are not only intended to relieve your symptoms but are intended to balance and nurture your whole self by addressing the underlying Root imbalance. This form of Root treatment is a specialty of his training and is not common in most practices that often only focus on symptoms. Both Acupuncture and Shiatsu are usually incorporated into the session as needed.

Due to Mitchell’s experience and skill, beneficial results can often be experienced even after one session. Results and frequency of sessions are impossible to predict but usually can be surmised based upon patient response.

Patients often continue to receive ongoing sessions as a form of health maintenance after the initial health concern has been resolved.

Mitchell has many clients that he has worked with for many years, who come for support with their busy lives.

Acupuncture will help you by stimulating your body’s natural ability to heal itself without any negative side effects.
